As a Tack Truck Operator at Pave Black Asphalt, you play a vital role in ensuring that every paving job starts with proper adhesion and surface prep. You’ll drive and operate the oil distributor truck, applying tack coat ahead of the paver crew with consistency and care. Your work helps ensure mat strength, joint bonding, and long-term pavement life — and the crew depends on you to keep the operation smooth and on pace. |

- Operate tack truck to spray oil on pavement prior to asphalt paving
- Control spray width and pressure for consistent coverage
- Coordinate timing with the foreman and paver operator
- Pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections
- Keep tack equipment clean and in working order
- Follow safety procedures when handling oil, loading materials, and working around active paving operations
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- Valid CDL Class B (minimum) with tanker endorsement
- Experience operating tack truck or similar distributor truck preferred
- Knowledge of safe handling and application of emulsified asphalt (tack oil)
- Comfortable working in high-heat environments and around active paving equipment
- Strong communication skills and team-player mentality
- Detail-oriented with clean driving habits and safe decision-making
💵 Pay & Perks:
- $24–$30/hr based on experience and licensing
- Weekly pay with overtime potential
