As an Excavating Foreman at Pave Black Asphalt, you lead the crew that lays the foundation for every paving project we do. From digging out subgrade to fine grading for final compaction, your crew sets the stage for a smooth, long-lasting finish. We’re looking for a confident, experienced foreman who leads with skill, communicates clearly, and delivers results. - Supervise daily excavation, site prep, and grading operations
- Manage laborers, operators, and equipment on site
- Set grade using string lines, lasers, or digital equipment
- Coordinate with paving foreman and project managers on schedule and layout
- Track production, materials, and crew hours
- Train and develop crew members for safety and growth
- Keep job sites organized, compliant, and ahead of schedule
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of excavation/sitework experience
- 1+ year of crew leadership or foreman-level experience
- Proficiency in reading site plans and setting grade
- Strong equipment knowledge (excavators, skid steers, compactors, etc.)
- Ability to lead under pressure and solve problems in the field
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- CDL is a plus, but not required
💵 Pay & Perks:
- $28–$35/hr depending on experience and leadership ability
- Weekly pay with overtime available
- Full-time seasonal work
- Company vehicle or fuel allowance for qualified foremen
- Local job sites — home every night
